Research Interests

My field of research is silicon photonics and nanophotonic interconnects for next generation computing.

Silicon photonics is the enabling technology for future convergence of photonic interconects and optical signal processing with CMOS-based electronics. The projects in this area include silicon based reconfigurable optical lattice filters (SiPhASER), hybrid integrated indium-phosphide active devices on silicon, athermal silicon waveguide design, passive silicon cross-bar switches and many similar areas.

My work covers device design, mask layout, device fabrication using deep-ultraviolet stepper lithography and device characterization. Fabrication is carried out at Marvell Nanolab and Microlab facilities, University of California, Berkeley.

I was also involved in AlGaAs parametric amplifier design and plasmonic nano-interconnects. Edit
