CIPIC has a world-class visualization, data processing, and virtual reality activities. We are currently collaborating with CIPIC to achieve high performance networking for visualization and data processing purposes. For instance, interactive 3-D medical imaging may require 1 Tb/s transport of data with very low latency and low packet loss rates. (1000 pixels x 1000 pixels x 1000 pixels x 28 bits of color x 30 frames/sec ~ 1 Tb/s ). Multicast for collaborative applications are being investigated as well.
